Developing a Strong, Consistent Brand Identity
A business’s branding is more important than you might think. On the outside, your brand may seem like it consists only of elements such as logos and colors, but your brand is actually the entire identity of your business. Branding has always been a vital part of business, but it may be more important now than ever before. With social media, consumers get exposed to new brands every day. This can be great for consumers who have plenty of options and are able to do research to find the best one, but it makes it harder for businesses to present their personalities.
What is branding?
Importance of a strong, consistent brand identity
In our recent survey of small business owners, 62% said that developing a brand was one of the biggest challenges of owning their business. 58% are more concerned with how their logo will stand out from other businesses, not with how their company’s name will look on a map. That’s why it’s so important for small business owners to develop a strong, consistent brand identity and to constantly communicate it in everything they do, from how they look, to their mission statement, to the way they market themselves. The case for strong branding having a distinctive and memorable brand gives your business an identity and some sort of consistency. In the world of commerce, it is what sets you apart from your competition and allows you to stand out from the crowd.
How does branding help the customer?
Customers need to be able to relate to your business if they are to form a lasting relationship with you. They also need to be able to identify your brand and the unique values you provide. Branding gives you the ability to choose the labels you want to put on your business and keeps you in control of your brand. Coz if you don't, then the market will put those labels for you.
